Bright Angel, the new Dutch distributor formed only at the beginning of the month, has picked up a further two films. From Cineclick Asia it bought Lee Chang-dong's drama Oasis and from Toei it grabbed Battle Royale II. Distribution head Patrizia Raeli describe the purchases as "old friends". In her previous incarnation at the UK's Metro Tartan Films she bought splatterfest Battle Royale and its sequel and had sought Oasis.

On the eve of the festival, Bright Angel picked up Naomi Kawase Cannes competition film Shara (Sharasoyju), which screens on the last Saturday of the festival. The deal was struck through French sales house Flach Pyramide International.
