Terri Jones has stepped down as director of the British Film Commission after joining in February last year, to be replaced by former freelance producer Clare Wise.

Jones, formerly director of production at UK TV station LWT, is understood to have wanted to return to the TV sector. Wise most recently produced the comedy Acts Of Charity for Alliance Atlantis and Adrian Lester's directing debut, Rollin Over. Her previous credits include The Last Seduction II for PolyGram Filmed Entertainment.

The post will involves overseeing the day-to-day running of the commission as well as assisting in setting and implementing policy. The commission last year announced a record year, with inward investment at more than $1 billion.
