CanalPlus has sold off five companies that previously made up the lightentertainment division of its Studio Expand, TV production group.

ProductionsDMD, KM and CALT are being sold back to their founders; Adventure LineProductions is being taken over by JAP, a company representing Teleimages and agroup of private investors. The fifth company Starling, which is responsiblefor Video Gag and the French versions of Who Wants To Be AMillionaire and The Weakest Link, is being sold to Sony Pictures Television.

The move further underlines the dismantling of theExpand group, which was begun last July with the sale of Ellipse Animation toGroupe Dargaud (Medias Participations). Canal Plus said that the sales ofExpand's remaining two units, drama and documentaries, are underway.
