The CannesMarket has introduced three new initiatives for this year's event being heldconcurrent with the film festival May 14 to 24.

- A videolibrary will be launched for buyers to view recent films on VHS and DVD to beopen from 9am to 10pm. Located in the Palais des Festivals, level 01, thelibrary will be equipped with television sets together with headphones.

-A new short film package is being offered to enableproducers to book slots for the length of each short during the market and then in a showcase screeningtowards the end of the market. In addition, a location has been reserved in thePalais called "Short Corner" for short producers to meet and hold events andscreenings. Market executive director Jerome Paillard said that the shortprogramme is intended to complement the increasing focus on shorts in thefestival in official competition, Cinefondation, Directors Fortnight andCritics Week.

-Themarket has also introduced Dolby Digital double-headed screening services inall market theatres and is offering digital facilities including HD Cam, videoprojection, electronic subtitling and post-production services.
