Actor LaBeouf reveals his “off-beat and irreverent vision” of film criticism in short.

Shia LaBeouf’s latest short film Howard Cantour.com is set to premiere in a special screening in Critics’ Week, the parallel Cannes Film Festival section has announced.

Aptly, the short film stars stand-up comedian and actor Jim Gaffigan in the role of a cinema critic.

“Shia LaBeouf reveals his off-beat, irreverent vision of film criticism,” Critics’ Week said in a statement.

LaBeouf was already scheduled to be in Cannes during the festival for his role in John Hillcoat’s competition film Lawless.

The actor’s previous shorts include Let’s Love Hate, the Marilyn Manson music video Born Villain and Maniac, inspired by the Belgian satire Man Bites Dog (C’est Arrive Près De Chez Vous).
