Junya Sakino’s road movie [pictured] premiered at SXSW.

Japanese sales company Pictures Dept. has sold Junya Sakino’s Sake-Bomb to the UK’s Third Window Films.

Starring Gaku Hamada and Eugene Kim, the English-language road movie follows a sarcastic Asian-American who takes his naïve Japanese cousin on a road trip in California to find his ex-girlfriend.

The film was warmly received at this year’s SXSW, where it received its world premiere, and was also awarded outstanding screenplay at the LA Asia Pacific Film Festival last month.
