EXCLUSIVE: Paris-based genre and horror boutique out WTFilms has picked up sales on Chilean director Patricio Valladares’ English remake of his Hidden in the Woods which is due to shoot in the US later this year.
The original film [pictured], about two sisters and a brother who live with a depraved, incestuous father in the Chilean forest, created waves amid horror fans last year.
Michael Biehn is producing the remake through BlancBiehn Productions, his joint company with Jennifer Blanc.
Biehn will star as the father opposite Jeannine Caspar and Electra Avellan as the two sisters who attempt to flee their crazy father. William Forsythe will play of the girl’s uncle, a cruel drug kingpin. Chris Browning and Rico Ross are also attached.
WTFilms, previously worked with BlancBiehn Productions on The Victim, Biehn’s directorial debut, which was picked up by Anchor Bay in the US and the UK.
The company will also launch sales on Enter Nowhere, a time-travel thriller distributed by Lionsgate Home Entertainment in the US and produced by Caliber Media, and will premiere cannibal-martial arts hybrid Evil Feed.
