Nicola Cartwright has been promoted to the newly created role of Commercial Director of the UK's Lionsgate Home Entertainment Division.

Cartwright has worked in home entertainment since 2000, where she rose through the marketing ranks at MGM Home Entertainment (UK), where as Senior Product Manager she took on key releases such as the James Bond franchise. In 2003 she went to Buena Vista before moving to Lions Gate as Marketing Director for Home Entertainment in May last year.

Her new appointment came as Lionsgate prepared to release 19 new DVD titles over a three-month period, including Saw 3: Extreme Edition on Feb 26 as part of a month-long 'Horrorthon' and is concurrent with the company's drive to include more television franchises in its catalogue. This push begins with the release of US series Weeds.

According to Zygi Kamasa, CEO of Lionsgate UK, 'Nicola has played an integral role in the development of our new Home Entertainment division in the UK. She has been responsible for overseeing the growth of the division to over 50 new titles per year, in addition to the management of our current library of over 400 films.'
