UK-based sales agency The Works has sold all North American rights to Ken Loach's Ae Fond Kiss to US indie Castle Hill Productions.

Castle Hill, which most recently handled What Alice Found, Pipe Dream and The Next Big Thing, plans a November release in two or three cinemas in New York, to be followed by openings in Los Angeles, Chicago and Florida. The deal was brokered by The Works' head of sales Joy Wong and Mel Maron, Castle Hill's president of marketing and distribution.

Produced by Rebecca O'Brien and written by Paul Laverty, the gritty film premiered in competition at this year's Berlin International Film Festival.
