French sales house Celluloid Dreams has notched up a raft of sales on Italian kidnap drama Buongiorno Notte by Marco Bellocchio.

Celluloid only picked up the film after its premiere at the Venice festival but took it to Mifed where deals were completed with Les Films de l'Elysee (Belgium), Contact (The Netherlands), Vertigo (Spain), Bitters End (Japan), Atalanta Filmes (Portugal), United King (Israel), Constellation Pictures (Mexico), Folkets Bio (Sweden), Maywin Media (Russia) and Gutek (Poland).

Produced by Filmalbatros and Rai Cinema, the film was previously distributed in Italy by Distribuzione 01 and sold at Toronto to Ocean Films for France. It will this week receive the FIPRESCI Prize at the European Film Awards.
