The short list of nominees has been announced for the Celtic Media Festival 2007, which will be held in Skye from March 28-30. The event recognises work from Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Cornwall and Brittany.

The festival has 17 categories across film, radio and TV.

Among the film nominees are feature-length drama nominees Little White Lies from Red and Black Films, True North from Makar Productions, The Flying Scotsman from ContentFilm International and Stardust from RTE Television.

Documentary feature nominees are Everything In Welsh (Popeth Yn Gymraeg), Hard Bread (Le Pain Dur), Downhill Racer, The Brothers, The Sacred Sites Of The Dalai Lamas, Faiscthe As An Talamh, We Weren't Just Becassines (Nous N'etions Pas Des Becassines), Le Testament De Tibhirine, As I Saw It: Nancy Dorian and Gaelic (Mar A Chunnaic Mise: Nancy Dorian Agus A'Ghaidhlig), and The Seaweed Gatherers (Percheurs De Goemon).

'This is a really strong short-list with a very strong representation from Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Cornwall and Brittany,' said festival chair Maggie Cunningham, who is head of programmes at BBC Scotland. 'The quality of entries is a great credit to the creativity of programme-makers throughout the Celtic countries.'
