China Lion Film Distribution has acquired rights for North America, Australia and New Zealand to Andrew Lau’s latest film A Beautiful Life from Hong Kong’s Media Asia.

The $4m film will be released theatrically in those territories day-and-date with its Hong Kong release which is scheduled for May 19.

Starring Liu Ye and Shu Qi, the film follows a romance between a young woman and a policeman who is going through a midlife crisis. Lau directed from a script by Tang Ming.
