German sales house Cine International has licensed Belgian first film Children Of Love (Les Enfants De L'Amour) to specialist exhibitor-distributor Film Forum for a US release.

The film by Geoffrey Enthoven is a documentary-style drama about a family torn apart by disputes, disappointments and separation. It was produced by Flemish producer Mariano Vanhoof of Ghent-based Fobic Films.

Children Of Love had its premiere at the Ghent festival in 2001 was awarded the prize for best feature at the Milan Film Festival (2002) and received a special mention from the jury at the Mannheim-Heidelberg International Film Festival (2002).

The film will get a limited New York release for a minimum of two weeks from Dec 24. The Belgian DVD release of the picture goes ahead in January 2004 through Boomerang.

At Mifed Lili Tyc-Holm, head of sales, announced that she was also in advanced negotiations with North American, UK and Japanese distributors for Woman Driving, Man Sleeping, the new film by acclaimed German director Rudolf Thome, whose Karlovy Vary title Red And Blue she is also handling. The film will be formally introduced to buyers at the next market.

Cine-International, in association with France's Eurocine International, is also to present Killer Barbies Vs. Dracula, the next film by cult genre director Jess Franco. "We have picked up the rights to this as there is currently such strong demand for horror genre titles and it complements the ten films by Franco that we have in our library," said Tyc-Holm.
