CinemaExpo International will present this year's lifetime achievement award toFrench director, producer and writer Francis Veber.

Veber will be presented with his award at theconference's awards ceremony on June 29. Gaumontchairman Nicolas Seydoux will present him with theaward.

"CinemaExpo is honoured to pay tribute to such a well-known figure of both French andinternational cinema," said Mitch Neuhauser,co-managing director of the annual convention. "Veberhas crafted stories which, after twenty years still leave his audiencesscreaming with laughter. He is, quite simply, a filmmaking genius and it'sabsolutely wonderful that the European cinema industry will have thisopportunity to say thank you to this incredibly talented man."

Veber has worked on films including La Cage aux folles, Three Fugitives, The Dinner Game and this year's The Valet.

CinemaExpo runs June 26-29 in Amsterdam.
