Nayan Padrai makes feature debut on cross-cultural romcom.

Toronto-based Cinemavault has acquired international rights to Nayan Padrai’s feature debut, the romantic comedy When Harry Tries to Marry, from Los Angeles-based 108 Productions

Billed as a “cross-cultural romantic comedy”, When Harry Tries to Marry is about a cynical New York bachelor who asks his match-making uncle to arrange a “traditional marriage” so he doesn’t end up like his divorced parents. But after a lovely girl from India arrives — and Harry thinks he’s found the perfect Indian bride — he begins to wonder if his friendship with Theresa, a fun and sexy American, could be something more.

The comedy premiered simultaneously at the Austin Film Festival and the Mumbai International Film Festival.

Cinemavault’s vp acquisitions, Craig Morrow, negotiated the deal with director, writer and producer Padrai of 108 Productions.
