Australiandirector and editor Graeme Clifford has been appointed senior lecturer in thedirecting discipline at the American Film Institute (AFI) Conservatory.Clifford, whose editing credits include The Rocky Horror Picture Show and The Postman Always Rings Twice and whose directing credits includeFrances, will train the 50 first and second year directing fellows for the year2002-2003.

The AFIConservatory is a Master of Fine Arts degree programme which trains aspiringfilm-makers in six disciplines - cinematography, directing, editing,producing, production design and screenwriting.

Clifford hasalso directed Gleaming The Cube with Christian Slater and the miniseries The Last Don set in a Mafia family.
