Increasingly active UK distributor Contender Films has taken on two new projects: Air Guitar Nation and A Very British Gangster.
Alexandra Lipsitz's Air Guitar Nation, a documentary about the Air Guitar World Championships, was acquired from Media 8 Entertainment. Contender's head of marketing Matt Brightwell called the film ' a brilliantly made, engaging and hilarious documentary.'
Donal MacIntyre's A Very British Gangster is a look at Dominic Noonan of the notorious Manchester crime family. The rights were acquired from Dare Films.
Contender film manager Tristan Woods-Scawen said: 'Donal MacIntyre has made a brilliant and compelling film that is bound to shock and surprise many. It's a fantastic addition to our 2007 theatrical slate'
Other forthcoming Contender releases include The City Of Violence, Shutter, and Daddy's Girl.
