Cool Hand International, an LA- and London-based production outfit run by Matthew Wolf, Simon Kelton and Luke G-Jones, has acquired the option to Barbara Ankrum's novel The Vines, a vampire thriller set in the vineyards of northern California.

Brian Austin Green, who is currently starring in US TV hit Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, is attached to direct the film. He previously directed indie comedy Fish Without A Bicycle in 2003.

The deal was brokered by Ankrum's manager David Ankrum of Schiowitz, Connor, Ankrum & Wolf and her lawyers Laurie Megery and Bob Myman of Myman, Abell, Fineman, Fox, Greenspan & Light.

Representing Cool Hand International in the deal was attorney Lawrence I Weinberg.

Cool Hand International functions as a production, finance and sales representation business, with G-Jones running finance and business affairs for the venture. He had previous tenures at Future Film Group and New Films International.
