At the Danish box-office it wasn't just the predictable third instalment of The Lord Of The Rings, The Return Of The King, which enjoyed record-breaking success, with the re-releases of the two first films also finding places in the chart.

However, their screen averages were not too impressive as was the case of the rest of the films on release this weekend. While The Return Of The King had a strong 1,322 admission screen average, the only other film able to get much out of its prints was Clint Eastwood's Mystic River, one of the final Rings' chief awards rivals, which after 3 weeks continues to play well on just 13 prints.

The Danish feature debut from Swedish-born Anders Gustafsson, Scratch (Bagland) is released on Dec 25, but has already picked up a number of awards including best actress at the Copenhagen International Film Festival for newcomer Stephanie Leon, and has been selected for the Berlin Film Festival's new youth film sidebar 14plus.
