The International Filmfestival Mannheim-Heidelberg has announced its line-up for this year's event (November 9 -18), which opens with the premiere of Desire, a German-Canadian co-production, directed by Colleen Murphy.

Among the titles in the International Competition are Rafi Pitts' Sanam (Iran), Alain de Halleux's Pleure Pas Germaine (Belgium), Arto Paragamian's Two Thousand And None (Canada), Julian Kemp's House (UK) and Ragnar Bragason's Fiasco (Iceland).

Sidebars include a programme of student films from Korea, new titles from Latin America and a series of films supported by the Mannheim-Heidelberg "Co-production Meetings", an annual event that encourages participants to network and form alliances for future co-productions. Opening film Desire, Lou Ye's Suzhou River, Ragnar Bragason's Fiasco and Auli Mantila's Geography Of Fear are among the ten films screening as part of this series.
