Film Movement has acquired domestic rights to Sharon Bar-Ziv’s directorial debut Room 514 in Cannes.
The Hebrew-language film earned a special jury mention for best new narrative director in Tribeca and screens in the ACID programme here in Cannes.
Film Movement plans a fourth quarter theatrical release with limited nationwide roll-out and a day-and-date VoD launch.
Room 514 centres on a battle of wills between a female Israeli solider tasked with interrogating a superior male officer alleged to have abused an Arab family.
Film Movement president Adley Gartenstein negotiated the deal with Daniela Elster of Doc & Film. Sophie Dulac Distribution holds French rights.
