The Film Sales Company has acquired worldwide distribution rights, excluding Spain and the UK, to Edmon Roch’s documentary Garbo: The Spy.

The English-language film, a true life account of the civilian - nicknamed Garbo because of his acting abilities - who served as a double agent and helped the Allies win World War II, premiered at the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam last autumn and has run theatrically in Spain for 18 weeks. It won this year’s Goya for best documentary and the Gaudi for best documentary and best screenplay.

Film Sales Company president Andrew Herwitz will launch the film in the US at this month’s Seattle Film Festival. The film’s next international appearance will be at Karlovy Vary.
