The Argentina-based sales company will begin international sales on Juha Wuolijoki’s film in Cannes.

Guido Rud’s Buenos Aires -based sales company FilmSharks has acquired worldwide rights (excluding Scandinavia and Estonia) to Finnish drama Hella W.

The follow up to Finnish director Juha Wuolijoki’s Christmas Story, the film is based on the true story of Hella Wuolijoki, an internationally acclaimed businesswoman, playwright and politician who faced charges of treason during WWII.

It opened in January 2011 in Finland where it has taken over $900,000 to date.

FilmSharks will begin international sales on the film in Cannes. Scandinavian distribution is being handled by Sandrew Metronome Distribution.
