The family juggernaut would have crossed the milestone on Wednesday [27] after Warner Bros Picture International executives said it grossed a further $17.9m on Tuesday.
That put Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2 on $595.5m internationally, which combined with the $286.5m North American running total by end of Tuesday for $882m worldwide.
Based on Tuesday’s performance, the film would easily have added the required $4.5m on Wednesday to reach $600m internationally.
Latest figures were not available at time of writing, however what seems highly likely is that the franchise finale will cross $1bn at the global box office before long, making it the first in the eight-film series to do so.
