Toronto-based distributor picks up all Canadian rights for Taskovski Films’ three documentaries.

Kinosmith has acquired all Canadian rights to three of Taskovski Films’ documentaries.

The Toronto-based distributor has picked up Andreas Pichler’s The Venice Syndrome [pictured], Carmen Losmann’s Work Hard, Play Hard and Ivars Zviedris & Inese Klava’s Documentarian, which will all receive a theatrical release during 2013.

Robin Smith, director of Kinosmith, said: “We are confident that these amazing films will find an audience in Canada. Working with Taskovski Films is a pleasure as they value identical qualities: exquisite filmmaking, bold visions and complex stories.”

“Kinosmith, whose passion for documentary films equals our own and are pioneers in bringing innovative and author driven film to the big screen,” added Irena Taskovski, managing director of Taskovski Films.

The Venice Syndrome also recently sold to Taiwan following a deal between Taskovski Films sales executive Victor Fenés and Taiwanese Cineplex’s Gino Hsu.
