Peccadillo Pictures is to handle UK and Ireland distribution of Bavo Defurne’s directorial debut North Sea Texas, about two teenage boys who fall in love.

The film won the Silver Zenith Award at the Montreal World Film Festival and the Alice in the City Award at the Rome International Film Festival.

Peccadillo, the UK’s foremost LBGT distributor, picked up the film from UK-based sales agency Wavelength Pictures.

It will release the film theatrically in the UK on April 6, with VOD and DVD scheduled for August.

“Peccadillo Pictures’ success with films such as Tomboy and Weekend gives me every confidence that they are the ideal distributor for the film” said Wavelength’s managing director John Flahive.

Peccadillo’s future theatrical releases include Oliver Hermanus’ Beauty (Skoonheid) and Alix Delaporte’s Angel And Tony.
