Strand Releasing will distribute Patrick Hughes’ Australian thriller Red Hill in partnership with Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group (SPWAG), which originally picked up all US rights in Berlin.

Ryan Kwanten from HBO’s True Blood plays a police officer who moves his family to a small town and on his first day must confront a legendary convicted murderer.

The film was one of the hits of Berlin when it played in Panorama and will open in the US on November 5.

Al Clark produced and Greg Mclean served as executive producer. Arclight is handling worldwide sales on Red Hill.
