Former Intermediaco-chairmen Nigel Sinclair and Guy East have named their new production outfitSpitfire Pictures and started production in Los Angeles on their first filmunder the banner Masked & Anonymous. The all-star film which is directed by TV veteran Larry Charles, is aco-production with Destiny Productions and BBC Films. Spitfire is co-financingthe film with the BBC and Intermedia, which is handling international sales.

The film, an ensemble drama,stars Jeff Bridges, Penelope Cruz, Bob Dylan, John Goodman, Jessica Lange andLuke Wilson with an impressive array of stars in small or cameo roles includingSteven Bauer, Bruce Dern, Laura Elena Harring, Ed Harris, Val Kilmer, CheechMarin, Chris Penn, Giovanni Ribisi, Mickey Rourke, Richard Sarafian, ChristianSlater and Fred Ward.

Sinclair is producing onbehalf of Spitfire, with Guy East executive producing alongside David Thompsonof BBC Films and Marie Canton, who is also acting as line producer.

In the film, Dylan plays asinger who has fallen from grace and who returns to the stage for one finalbenefit concert. Charles, famed as the writer/producer/director of hit TV showssuch as Seinfeld and Mad About You, makes his feature directing debut.

East and Sinclair have raisedindependent capital to launch Spitfire, even though it still has an overall,non-exclusive production deal with Intermedia of which the two together stillown a 25% stake.
