Ng, who will report directly to EMP chief executive Albert Lee, will oversee the company's growing distribution team. However he is not a direct replacement for Ricky Tse, who left the company last week to head up sales at Hong Kong 's Media Asia, as some of Tse's duties will be shared among the new team.
Ng was formerly Celestial's vice president in charge of acquisitions and distribution.
'Alan is considered one of the best young executives in the business, and we are absolutely delighted that he has agreed to come on board with us,' said Lee.
EMP's 2007 line-up includes Jiang Wen's The Sun Also Rises, starring Jiang, Anthony Wong, Jaycee Chan and Joan Chen; Twins Mission, starring Sammo Hung, Wu Jing and pop duo Twins; Susie Au's Ming Ming and Kenneth Bi's The Drummer.
