Look East: Korean Film Festival has announced ten films for the lineup of its first annual Hollywood celebration of Korean cinema.

Included are 2011 releases Punch (Wahn D’Ghi), from director Han Lee, The Day He Arrives (Book Chon Bahng Yang) from Sang-soo Hong and Unbowed (Booruh Jin Hwa Sal) from Woo-Suk Kang.

Also screening will be the 3D version of cult horror film The Host.

The festival takes place at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood from June 23-24. Filmmaker Pierre Rissient will be recognised at the festival’s opening ceremony and Unbowed star Ahn Sung-ki will be among other honourees.

“For lovers of Korean cinema, and for those who have never experienced it, this festival offers a fantastic cross-section of films across more than six decades,” said Look East: Korean Film Festival founder Martha Chang. “We especially look forward to introducing these wonderful films to new audiences and hope to broaden the reach of the festival in years to come.”
