Rafael Cabrera, managing director of marketing at Spanish studio Filmax, is leaving after nearly ten years at the company.

Cabrera is stepping down today (July 17) and is moving to a new as yet undisclosed job within the film industry. Filmax international marketing manager Eva Gutierrez will take over his responsibilies for international marketing.

During his tenure with the Spanish studios, Cabrera oversaw campaign for number of high profile films including Danny Boyle’s multi Oscar-winning Slumdog Millionaire. He also handled the international promotion of their Filmax’s local dramas such as the horror film Rec, directed by Jaume Balaguero, PacoPlaza and the animation Hairy Tooth Fairy.
