First Look Pictures (FLP) has struck a deal with UK-basedsales outfit The Works to buy North American distribution rights to Ken Loach'sThe Navigators, which played at theVenice Film Festival last year.

FLP is planning a summer theatrical release for the film whichwill then go to video and DVD through First Look Home Entertainment in the autumn. First Look's president MJ Peckos negotiated the deal with Joy Wong, head of international sales for The Works.

FLP has also announced that it will handle domestic rightson Tom Hunsinger and Neil Hunter's UK romantic comedy Lawless Heart, on which FLP's sister company Overseas Filmgroup ishandling sales.

At the Berlin Film Festival recently, FLP bought domesticrights to Peter Naess' Norwegian comedy Elling, which was recently nominated for an Academy Award for best foreignlanguage picture. In a separate deal, Optimum Releasing bought UK rights to LawlessHeart, which stars Douglas Henshall and TomHollander, from Overseas.
