Fortissimo reveals sales on high profile Sundance titles head of the European Film Marketing opening this week.
Fortissimo Films has closed a raft of sales on Sundance titles Winter’s Bone and Jean Michel Basquait: The Radiant Child ahead of the European Film Market.
Distributor Pretty pictures has acquired all rights to Debra Granik’s Sundance grand jury prize winner for France; while Fortissimo has received multiple offers for Benelux, Scandinavia and the UK.
Fortissimo has also pre-sold Jean-Michel Basquiat: The Radiant Child to France, Germany and Switzerland (Pretty Pictures) and to Portugal (Lusomundo). It remains in talks on a number of other territories.
Takashi Shimizu’s The Shock Labyrinth: Extreme, which will have its world premiere in 3D at this year’s market, has also been picked up for Singapore (Cathay Films); while John Woo and Terrence Chang’s Reigns Of Assassins (Jianyu Jianghu), which stars Michelle Yeoh, has also been sold to Portugal (Film & TV House); Poland (Vision) and Korea (Younghwa).
Fortissimo’s Michael J Werner said: “The interest shown and multiple deals completed are immensely satisfying and justify our confidence in the film-makers we are working with and the market as a whole.”
