On the eve its Sept 11international premiere in Toronto, Thai drama The Overture put in placea key piece in its distribution jigsaw. Handled by Fortissimo Film Sales, thefilm was sold to Toho Towa of Japan.

The Overture, directed and produced by Itthisoontorn Vichailak, is a period drama about a peasantxylophone player who rises to become a court musician and becomes involved in adesperate struggle to save his country.

"Weare thrilled. This is a wonderful and charming film and to get the kind of endorsementthat Toho Towa brings is great. It is also Fortissimo's first deal with TohoTowa," said Wouter Barendrecht, Fortissimo co-chief.
