The InternationalFilm Festival Rotterdam has selected fourteen films for the Tiger AwardsCompetition of its 34th edition.

The Competitionline-up includes four world premieres, four international premieres and fourEuropean premieres. Two titles were supported by the IFFR's Hubert Bals Fundand one title was previously selected as CineMart Project.

The jury memberschoosing the winning films will be American photographer Nan Goldin, Australianproducer Jan Chapman, Lia van Leer, director of the Jerusalem Film Festival,Iranian filmmaker Bahman Ghobadi and director Lisandro Alonso from Argentina.The Tiger Awards are awarded to young, promising filmmakers.

The three winnerswill be announced during IFFR 2005's Awards Ceremony, to be held on FridayFebruary 4. Each of the three equal VPRO Tiger Awards comes with Euros 10,000and guaranteed Dutch television screening by IFFR's main sponsor, Dutch publicnetwork VPRO.

Last year, theprizes were awarded to The Missing by Lee Kang-sheng, Summer In TheGolden Valley by Sredjan Vuletic and Unterwegs by Jan Krueger.

The 34th edition ofthe International Film Festival Rotterdam will open next January 26. It will bethe first festival to be headed by new director Sandra den Hamer.
