After eight years as president of international sales at iDream Productions, Rohit Sharma has joined Fox Star Studios as head of international sales and distribution.

His responsibilities will include the international sales of Fox Star’s Indian productions and acquisitions. He will report directly to Fox Star Studios CEO Vijay Singh.

Prior to iDream Productions, Sharma spent six years with Disney’s Indian joint venture, Modi Disney, as head of national distribution. His last few years at iDream were dedicated to heading iDream Independent Pictures, a sales agent for international films.

Fox Star’s first Indian acquisition Quick Gun Murugun releases this week. It also recently announced the acquisition of Karan Johar’s My Name Is Khan, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, for worldwide distribution in February 2010.

The studio also has three to four other films in development in Hindi and Tamil languages.

In other moves, Navin Shah has resigned as CEO of Percept Picture Company (PPC) and its entertainment marketing arm P9. However his next assignment is currently unknown. Shailendra Singh, joint managing director of PPC, refused to comment.
