Keiichi Kobayashi directs TIFF’s best picture winner.

Japanese sales company Free Stone Productions has taken on world sales for Keiichi Kobayashi’s debut feature About The Pink Sky.

The film has been selected for Sundance 2012’s World Cinema Dramatic Competition, after winning the best picture award at last month’s Tokyo International Film Festival.

The black-and-white film is a coming of age story about the emotional journey of high school students. The cast features Ai Ikeda, Ena Koshino, Reiko Fujiwara, Tsubasa Takayama, and Hakusyu Togetsuan.

Kobayashi said, “It’s a real honor to be given the opportunity for the film to be seen by audiences in various countries and regions around the world.”
