Bac Majestic has announced a marked increase in revenues for the first half of 2006. With $15.1m (Euros 12m) in income, the French distributor saw a 56.6% rise over the same period last year.

Figures were especially notable in theatrical distribution with $7.8 (Euros 6.2m) in revenues for 12 films released including The White Planet, The Caiman, Transamerica and Hoodwinked.

Video distribution brought in $2.1m (Euros 1.7m) while international sales spiked to $2.6 (Euros 2.1m) from $75,728 (Euros 60,000) in 2005.

Bac expects to handily meet its target of a 15% increase for 2006 over 2005 and will publish 50 catalogue films on DVD including Happy Tree Friends, Hoodwinked and The White Planet.

Five films will be released theatrically including John Cameron Mitchell's Shortbus and Robert Altman's A Prairie Home Companion.
