Parent company releases annual results for year ending March 31, 2011, with EBITDA up 20% from last year

Entertainment One has announced its annual financial report for the year ending March 31, 2011, with the group reporting revenue of US$752.9 million up 12% from 2010 and adjusted profit before tax up 39% from 2010 at US$51.8 million.

Underlying EBITDA was up 20% from last year at US$68.1 million.

Distribution wing eOne released 121 films theatrically over the year including The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, RED and Gnomeo & Juliet and this year renewed a multi-year agreement with Summit Entertainment for Canada and the UK.

Earlier this year the company bought Australian distributor Hopscotch Films, meaning it now operates in the UK, the US, Canada, Benelux, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, France, Scandinavia, and South Africa.

The company acquired a number of high profile titles during Cannes, including Lay The Favorite, Pompeii and Tarzan 3D for the UK.

eOne also has nine series for US broadcast, delivering 269 half hours of original programming.
