Japan's Gaga has acquired local distribution rights to Unruly, yet another new film starring real-life hot couple Monica Bellucci and Vincent Cassel.

Sold by Rome-based outfit Surf Film, Unruly sees Cassel play the role of a man who returns to Marseilles, after a stint in jail, only to find that life in his home town has radically changed.

The newly-completed film was written and directed by Philippe Berenger, and produced by Ultramarine, Cinex Films, Roc Films and Canal Plus. It has also been sold to Russia's Fort Media TV company.

Meanwhile, Surf is also producing Desert Storm, a $1.4m war movie set in Egypt in 1942. Spain's Azalea Producciones has boarded the project, which starts shooting in April 2003, with a 20% stake.

"I think there is a market right now for war movies, and horror films," says Surf's Elena Francot.

Surfs is also a co-producer on Alejandro Agresti's Valentin which has been bought in the US by Miramax; and is selling The End Of Mystery, a film starring veteran Italian actor Nino Manfredi as Spanish poet Garcia Lorca.
