French studio Gaumont is todonate two days' of box-office takings from new release Il Etait Une FoisDans L'Oued to victims of the riots that have broken out across France inrecent weeks.

Directed by Homeboys On TheBeach's Djamel Bensalah, the comedy has attracted nearly 700,000admissions since its release in late October.

"At the initiative of DjamelBensalah, the entire cast and crew of the film and Gaumont, for every ticketsold at every theatre and for every showing in France, the distributor andproducers' shares will be handed over to an association or a fund working tohelp those who have suffered losses as a result of the recent riots," saidaGaumont statement.
