Ridley Scott's Gladiator which was co-financed by DreamWorks SKG and Universal Pictures has crossed the $350m mark at the worldwide box office. Its international gross through Universal/UIP is now at $180m and rising, surpassing the $171m it has generated domestically on its DreamWorks release.
The movie is to date the year's biggest grossing picture, although Mission: Impossible 2 from Paramount Pictures should beat Gladiator once it starts opening internationally. In the US it has taken over $200m this week. Mission: Impossible took a massive $465m worldwide in 1996.
