Clement Virgo has startedprincipal photography in Halifax on his fourth feature, Poor Boy's Game, starring Danny Glover and Rossif Sutherland andfeaturing Flex Alexander and Laura Regan.

The film isproduced by Virgo and his long-time producing partner Damon D'Oliveira'sConquering Lion Pictures alongside Chaz Thorne's Standing 8 Productions. Thorneand Virgo share the screenwriting credit.

Described by Virgo as amodern-day take on such gritty 1950s standards as On The Waterfront, RebelWithout A Cause and East Of Eden."It wassparked by the idea of exploring tribalism through two characters that chooseto step outside of their respective clans in order to heal a community,"he says.

The drama isproduced with the participation of Telefilm Canada, the Nova Scotia FilmDevelopment Corporation, Astral Media The Harold Greenberg Fund, the OntarioMedia Development Corporation, the Canadian Television Fund in association withthe CBC, The Movie Network, and Movie Central. The film is distributed inCanada by Seville Pictures. Seville International is handling internationalsales.
