The Goldcrest Group has formed a new New York-based division called Goldcrest Features which plans to integrate the production process for independent film-makers from pre-production through post-production and delivery all under one roof. The remit is to co-produce up to seven films a year with budgets up to $15m.

Gretchen McGowan, who ran production at Mark Cuban's HDNet Films and most recently produced Jim Jarmusch's The Limits Of Control, will act as head of production.

Goldcrest Features will act as a co-production partner in a number of ways. Film-makers will be able to access Goldcrest's studio hire and labour rates, experience in maximizing the NY state and city tax credits and receive preferential treatment at Goldcrest Post New York, a 22,000 sq ft facility which has recently completed work on New York, I Love You, Loss Of A Teardrop Diamond and Where In The World Is Osama Bin Laden'

'The convenience, efficiency and established workflows created by Goldcrest Features will enable filmmakers to realize their true creative potential,' said Nick Quested who will head the division. 'We'll handle the details and allow filmmakers to be filmmakers.'

Goldcrest Features can also access debt, equity, pre-sales and tax credit financing from its sister companies; Goldcrest Film Finance structures fundraising strategies and Goldcrest Independent provides pre-sales capabilities and international sales to the integrated group.
