Samuel Goldwyn Films and Fireworks Pictures are teaming up again to acquire domestic rights to George Hickenlooper's The Man From Elysian Fields, the star-studded drama which world premiered at last year's Toronto Film Festival and is in the premiere section at the Sundance Film Festival this week.

The film stars Andy Garcia as a failed novelist who is lured into the world of male escorts by the owner of an escort service (Mick Jagger). Julianna Margulies, Olivia Williams, James Coburn and Anjelica Huston co-star.

The film was produced by Gold Circle Films, the company formed by Norm Waitt, co-founder of Gateway Computers, who acts as executive producer. Gold Circle's international sales partner Vortex Pictures is handling sales outside the US. Garcia produced alongside Andrew Pfeffer and Donald Zuckerman.

Goldwyn and Fireworks plan to release the film through their distribution joint venture IDP in the second half of 2002.
