The Cannes Cinefondation, which promotes the discovery of new filmmakers, has awarded prizes for this year's edition to Now Everybody Seems To Be Happy from Argentina's Gonzalo Tobal (first prize), Way Out from Chen Tao of China (second prize) and a joint third prize to A Reunion from South Korea's Hong Sung-Hoon and Pavle Vuckovic of Serbia for Minus .

The Cinefondation was created in 1998 and yearly selects films from film schools the world over. This year, 16 films from Asia, Europe, North America and South America were selected from the 1200 submitted.

The jury was presided over by Jia Zhang ke and composed of Niki Karimi, Deborah Nadoolman Landis, Dominik Moll and J.M.G. Le Clezio.
