Writer Peter Harness and hispitch The Bone Family has won the"Director's Cut" competition for the UK Film CouncilDevelopment Fund's 25 Words Or Less scheme. Harness is now working with Intermission director John Crowley todevelop the script, about a man cursed with freezing the women he falls in lovewith.

Other 25 Words OrLess-winning writers are Ben Steiner with Louis,about a 12-year-old boy who takes revenge on a bachelor who dumps his singlemom, and Dawn King with The SquattersHandbook, about a man trying to romance a woman who lives in a London squat.

"For a pitch of 25 words orless, producers are looking for something that grabs them; ideas have to besimple but also fresh and exciting," said Natalie Wreyford,senior development executive for the UK Film Council's Development Fund. "It'snot an easy task. To create high concept ideas for films that can succeed in acompetitive market, you have to know your story, and have an awareness of bothindustry tastes and your potential audience. 25 Words or Less helps to fasttrack writers with this ambition, whilst staying focused on the ever-changingneeds of the industry."
