Elton John's London-based film production company Rocket Pictures has partnered with Ed Harris and Amy Madigan for an adaptation of A L Kennedy's novel So I Am Glad.

The husband and wife acting team will star in and, with Rocket co-founder David Furnish, produce the project through their US production outfits Zeke Productions and Amer Productions.

Set in Glasgow and Paris, the novel is the story of two unconventional people romantically intertwined. Stella Theodoulou and Neil Koenigsberg will co-produce, with a screenwriter to be appointed.

Harris has recently completed filming Jackson Pollock portrait Pollock, which he co-produced and directed. He also co-stars in Enemy At The Gates, which is filming in Berlin.

Madigan, whose recent credits include Pollock, Female Perversions and Loved, co-starred in and co-produced US TV movie Riders Of The Purple Sage.

Rocket is currently in post on Women Talking Dirty, starring Helena Bonham Carter and Gina McKee. Also on Rocket's slate are Rudyard Kipling's Just So Stories for Walt Disney Co and Waris Dirie memoirs Desert Flower, a co-production with Barnaby Films.

'So I Am Glad is a very special book and will make a wonderful film,' commented John.
