Popular Danishdirector Hella Joof hassigned to direct two Nordic features in 2006. First up is the Swedish drama Lina's Diary, (Under Ombygning) its preliminaryinternational title with a budget of $1.2-$2.1m (1-1.8m Euros). SF will beproducing.

It is based onthe true story of a teenager's struggles with alcohol, from a best-selling Swedish book by Emma Hamberg which in turn is based on the diary of Lina Kvallsbok.

Joof is also attached to direct the Swedish comedy Look At Me,which will shoot before the end of 2006 for Thomas Gammeltoft'sFine & Mellow production outfit. The film is about four girls who escapefrom a residential home for young people.

Joof, whose credits include local hit Oh Happy Day, to which the Walt Disney Co has English-languageremake rights, has just finished work on the Danish comedy Fidibus, starring Beate Bille and Nikolaj Kopernikus. Fidibus (whichtranslates literally as Spill) is also produced by Fine & Mellow and willopen in Denmarkin October 2006. Distribution is being handled by NordiskFilm.
