Sales consortium Latido International has closed a deal withhere! Films for North American distribution rights on Spanish film Unconscious(Inconscientes), which is competing in theWorld Cinema competition at Sundance.

Unconscious headlinesnew Almodovar muse Leonor Watling (Talk To Her) and local star Luis Tosar (Mondays In TheSun, Take My Eyes) in the 1913-set tale ofa pregnant woman who involves her lovestruck brother-in-law to help investigatewhy her husband, a Freud fanatic, mysteriously abandoned her.

The film was directed by Joaquin Oristrell, who alsoco-wrote the script with Teresa De Pelegri and Dominic Harari.

"Joaquin Oristrell's film is a mysterious,hugely entertaining, sexy cat and mouse drama with a superb cast," saidMark Reinhart, executive vice president of distribution and acquisitions athere! Films, who negotiated on behalf of the company with Latido managingdirector Max Saidel.

Unconscious has soldwidely following its world premiere in Toronto last September. The film is a co-productionof Spain's Tornasol Films and Messidor Films, Germany's EMC AssetManagement, Portugal's Madragoa Filmes and Italy's Classic. AltaFilms released it in Spain.
